ITIL V3 assessment – ITIL v3 process maturity assessment

Like Tweet Pin it Share Share Email

ITIL version 3 has been available for almost a year and still has no ITIL Self-Assessment (MS Excel workbook allowing “simple” maturity assessment processes in the IT organization). Although several companies try to fill this gap, but theirs tools aren’t free. It all was true till now.

The free ITIL v3 assessment tool (unfortunately only web version) has been prepared by the Axios Systems comany. The whole process of self assessment takes about 10 minutes (in accordance with the advertising slogan), and requires essential knowledge of ITIL version 3 (I have notice that on some questions creators could worked little harder and not directly use the language of ITIL). The questions have only yes or no answers, and at the end of the process we receive a report in the form of pdf file. From the report, only the middle part is really meaningful, the rest of it is a pure marketing stuff (by the way in the last Forrester report, their product was placed in the leaders’ area).

If we are willing to give our true personal and contact data, we will be able to carry out a full assessment of our processes.

To sum up: One of the first free tools (I couldn’t find others) to self assessment maturity in processes according to ITIL version 3. I’m looking forward for version prepared by the ITSMF.
